The Walls

The logs are stacked, with half round notches as described on the notching page.

Logs ready to be stacked.

The first row of logs on two sides has to be half logs.

The first few rows are full logs, except at the front opening.

I used 1/2" threaded rod with nuts and washers to support the half logs.  This allowed the logs to be easily adjusted up and down.

When the window height is reached, half logs are used which makes the lifting easier.

Sawdust, chips and bark accumulates quickly.

At least one good solid log must go around the entire perimeter to support the roof.

Ends cut off clean and plumb.  Note the larger logs on the bottom, your back will appreciate it.
