Watching too much PBS will potentially get you in trouble!  After seeing the documentary about Richard Proenneke titled, "Alone in the Wilderness" one too many time, I decided I wanted to build a log cabin.  Richard in his fifties moved to an isolated area in Alaska on Twin Lakes, and built a log cabin entirely with hand tools.  After a lot of contemplating, I decided to try and build my own.

Using the trees from within 200 yards of the cabin site, some old tools gathered from various sources and a lot of borrowed equipment from my father-in-law, I have constructed a 14' x 14' Poplar log cabin.  What do I plan to do in this cabin?  Another idea from PBS, traditional wood working like Roy Underhill from "The Woodwright Shop."

The cabin is a work in progress,
